A kitchen assistant that stays in your kitchen

Foyer keeps track of what you cook with — the pans on the shelf and the food in the cupboards — so recipes, plans and shopping lists start from what you actually have.

Foyer checks every recipe against the equipment you own and what's in your inventory, so the first thing you see is what you can make tonight.

Cooking mode

One step at a time, big and readable

Tap Begin cooking and Foyer walks you through the recipe one step at a time, on a dark screen that stays awake while your hands are busy.

  • Every time a step mentions — “simmer 10 minutes” — becomes a tap-to-start timer
  • Timers keep running in the background and alert you when they're done
  • Finish, and Foyer takes what you used out of your inventory

Inventory

Know what's in the freezer without opening it

Your pantry, fridge, freezer, spice rack and baking shelf, each on its own tab. Scan a barcode and Foyer fills in the product for you.

  • Barcode scanning sorts groceries onto the right shelf
  • Metric or imperial, converted exactly — stored once, shown your way
  • Cooking a recipe deducts what it used, with one-tap undo

Recipes

Bring recipes in however you find them

Type one in, import it from a link, share it from your browser, or photograph a cookbook page — Foyer reads the page on your phone and fills in the recipe.

  • Scale servings and every amount rounds to something you can actually measure
  • Jars, cans and packages scale sensibly — half a jar, never “0 packages”
  • Recipes that need equipment you don't own are flagged

Calendar & shopping

Plan the week, shop for the gaps

Put recipes and leftovers on the calendar, see what each meal still needs, and send the missing pieces to your shopping list.

  • Open a planned meal and it starts at the servings you planned
  • Cooking it marks the meal done on your calendar
  • Leftovers slot straight into future meals

Tips & tricks

Get the most out of Foyer

    Tick your equipment first

    Suggestions only show what you can actually make, so a quick pass through the Equipment tab — Dutch oven, stand mixer, air fryer — pays off everywhere.

    Scan groceries as you unpack

    Scan each barcode on the way into the cupboard. Frozen vegetables land in Freezer, sauces in Pantry — Foyer sorts them from the product's own category.

    Tap the times in a step

    In cooking mode, any duration in the text — “bake 25 to 30 minutes” — is underlined. Tap it to start a timer (ranges start at the low end, so you check early).

    Cook from the calendar

    Open a recipe from a planned meal instead of from the Recipes tab: it starts at the servings you planned, and finishing marks that meal Cooked.

    Keep leftovers, then use them

    When you finish cooking, say how many servings you're keeping. They show up on Home under “Use up your leftovers” and can be dropped into any meal slot.

    Share recipes straight in

    Found a recipe online? Use your browser's Share button and pick Foyer — it opens the import with the link already filled in.

    Scale before you start

    Set the servings on the recipe first. Cooking mode, the timers and the inventory deduction all use that number.

    Step out, come back

    Leaving cooking mode mid-recipe loses nothing — the recipe shows Resume cooking, with your step and any running timers right where you left them.

Foyer keeps your data on your phone, so it can't see your recipes or inventory — only what you choose to put in the email.
